Chelsea expects a £ 140m contract for Philippe Coutinho

Chelsea are ready to make a splash with Barcelona's Philippe Coutinho this summer – provided they can cancel a transfer ban imposed on the club.

The Blues are currently appealing a FIFA transfer ban imposed by two windows, which would prevent the club from recruiting players until 2020.

Chelsea can still sell players and Real Madrid should confirm the capture of Eden Hazard early next week, after confirming that he would leave Stamford Bridge.

The club naturally wants to replace the Belgian and the Mirror, claiming that Coutinho was designated as the ideal substitute.

The Brazilian joined Liverpool from Liverpool in January 2018 for a staggering 144 million pounds, but failed to convince his supporters at Camp Nou.

Barcelona has already accepted a contract to sign Frenkie De Jong of Ajax for £ 75 million and will have to shell out a similar amount to engage his teammate Matthijs de Ligt.

Antonie Griezmann is also a target, but Barcelona has the highest payroll in the world and the departure of Coutinho could raise much needed funds.

However, the decision depends on Chelsea canceling their ban and waiting for the decision on their appeal.

Coutinho, meanwhile, is open to a return to the Premier League and would favor a transfer to Stamford Bridge in relation to a transfer to Manchester United.
