Chelsea "has doubts" on a permanent agreement to sign Mateo Kovacic Real Madrid.

Kovacic spent last season on loan at Stamford Bridge and could therefore stay at Stamford Bridge beyond this summer, regardless of the outcome of the transfer ban imposed by FIFA.

The registration of the midfield player until July is the property of Chelsea. It will not be considered as a new addition if it stays on the spot. But he will return to Real at the end of the month, making the deal much more complicated.

The London Evening Standard reports that the Blues are still thinking about the final decision. It is unlikely that Maurizio Sarri will lead them to next season.

Sarri wanted to retain Kovacic despite his disappointing performance in 2018/2019, but he has now left for Juventus. Chelsea is less in love with the player, especially as Tiemoue Bakayoko and Mason Mount will come back after borrowings from Milan and Derby to make up for the absence of Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Real "valued at £ 50 million Kovacic", which seems to have piqued the curiosity of one of his former clubs. Inter Milan, now headed by former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, capitalized on Chelsea's "hesitation" by opening his own talks.

Chelsea was even reluctant to include Croatian as part of The sale of Eden Hazard.

Chelsea's uncertainty about the future and possible replacement of Sarri means that it is unlikely to reach an agreement with Kovacic in the next three weeks. Poor Ross Barkley will not know who he is coming from.
