Wayne Bridge believes that Chelsea will not be able to replace Eden Hazard, only Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo being able to replace his shoes at Stamford Bridge.

Two-time Premier League champion, Hazard has spent seven productive and enjoyable years in Chelsea, becoming one of the best players in the world during his stay in West London.

Real Madrid, however, plans to sign the Belgian superstar this summer and the Blues resign more and more to his departure at the end of the season.

Chelsea recruited Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund in January, the American international replacing Hazard for Madrid.

Bridge, a former Chelsea and England defender, doubts that anyone – except the big boys of the modern world Messi and Ronaldo – will be able to replace Hazard.

He told Goal: "If Chelsea loses Hazard, I do not know how they could replace him. I could not think of who they would sign because Hazard is one of the best players in the world.

"I think only Messi or Ronaldo could replace him. I think if they lose it, they will not be able to replace it.

That's why I'm worried that Chelsea can not fight more than it's doing now. It has been a big part of the club's season with goals and aids.

"I'd love Hazard to stay to help the club compete and he's been so good for the league, but we do not know what's going to happen."

Hazard had another fantastic season for Chelsea, scoring 26 goals and 15 badists in 59 appearances in all competitions.

The Belgian star was surprisingly excluded from the Blues starting lineup for the Europa League semifinal on Thursday with Eintracht Frankfurt.

Explaining the omission of Hazard, Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri said: "We have to play five games in two weeks with the same level of importance. We must make changes.

That's why Eden is on the bench. He has played ten games in a row and is usually able to change the game from the bench.

"After ten games in a row, he needs rest, I do not want him to play for 90 minutes."

Chelsea signed a 1-1 draw in Frankfurt on Thursday, setting a new Europa League record for the most consecutive undefeated games in the competition.

On Sunday, Sarri's team will face London rival Watford.
