This seems unlikely and German reports have claimed that there was a new name in the frame to replace it – Ralf Rangnick.

Despite the Blues' victory in third place in the Premier League and the Europa League trophy after the victory over Arsenal in the final, the Italian should leave West London to take the first job at Juventus.

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard is the big favorite of the post after his success with Derby County's latest campaign, but the German publication Bild now claims that Rangnick is an option for the Blues.

Although Rangnick is the new name in the frame, there is someone who has always been linked to Sarri's replacement at Stamford Bridge – Frank Lampard.

The Blues legend has more than a year of management experience, guiding Derby County to the edge of the Premier League after their defeat in the championship game final at Wembley.

The midfielder spent last season on loan with AC Milan after a disappointing first season in England.
