Harry Redknapp, Ruud Gullit and Roberto Di Matteo all think that Frank Lampard can succeed in Chelsea.

The current Blues manager, Maurizio Sarri, is expected to leave the club after only one season at the helm of the team and join Juventus, Serie A champion.

Sarri led Chelsea to the glory of the Europa League and a third place finish in the Premier League last season, but failed to defeat the majority of Chelsea fans.

Lampard, currently holding the Derby County Championship, is the main candidate to replace Sarri and Redknapp said his nephew would have "real authority" in the Blues locker room.

"He will have real authority, he will not bear any nonsense," Redknapp told the Sun. "Eden Hazard is gone and he is a fantastic player.

"No disrespect to the other remaining players, but none of them can watch Frank and think" I am a bigger and better player ".

"He's been a better player for Chelsea than anyone else, it's not a bad starting point for him, there will not be anyone he can not handle.

Gullit, meanwhile, says that Lampard can flourish in his old club but must be surrounded by good people.

"[Lampard] has not done anything yet as a coach. Gullit told Sky Sports.[Chelsea] m gave this opportunity too, we won [a lot] so that [inexperience] has nothing to do with it.

"I think it's important for Chelsea to have a manager with whom they can relate, and I hope that they can surround them with good people to help them." .

"He must not make the mistake of bringing in friends, he must make sure that people experienced in team management and coaching are present. It will be the best thing for him.

Former Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo said Lampard was "definitely" the ideal agent for the Sarri job.

"He's really the good man, he has a personality," he told Sky Sports. "I followed Derby last season and he plays very well in football. He has all the experience of the world.

"It's a good choice, whether it's now or not? Only time can tell.

"You can not say it's too early, you have to give people a chance, he has all the tools and it will please a lot of people if he is the next manager."

Chelsea enters the 2018-1919 Premier League season with a trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.
