Chelsea employees seem to disagree over the manager they want to head to Stamford Bridge if, as expected, Maurizio Sarri leaves this summer.
Sarri seems confident of returning to his native Italy to join Juventus after the Serie A champions designate him as the number one target after the departure of Mbadimiliano Allegri. An agreement could be concluded as early as next week.
It is believed that Allegri is one of those who claim to be the star at Chelsea, alongside ex-player Frank Lampard and Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag.
However, according to the reporter Dean Jones there is a conflict of interest between the coaching staff and players and the board regarding the people they want as a manager next season.
Jones tweeted: "The people on the ground at Chelsea's training base are very keen to see Lampard become the next manager.
It is the big bosses of the offices who fear more than it is too risky. "
Lampard is considered a legendary club figure after playing 648 appearances in 13 seasons at Stamford Bridge. The 40-year-old was impressed in his first season at Derby County Management, leading them to the championship playoff final where they were eventually beaten. by Aston Villa.
It can not be denied, however, that Allegri is a man with much greater management experience than Lampard. Aged 51, he has led Italian giants AC Milan and Juventus, has won six Serie A titles and has been a two-time Champions League finalist.
Ten Hag was not as successful as Allegri, but nonetheless seduced by far the style that he implemented at Ajax during his remarkable Champions League run in the semifinals this season, where they beat Real Madrid and Juventus in the playoffs.
