Chelsea reportedly showed interest in Athletico Paranaense star Bruno Guimaraes before the summer transfer window.

The Blues continue to monitor potential targets as they hope that their ban on two-window transfers will be canceled or delayed by the FIFA Appeals Committee on April 11.

Several midfielders have been linked to Chelsea, although the future of Maurizio Sarri is in balance and that Guimaraes, 21, is firmly in the line of sight of the club.

according to ESPNChelsea sent a scout to oversee Guimaraes in Athletico Paranaense's 3-0 win over Boca Juniors in the Copa Libertadores on Wednesday night.

Guimaraes, who plays at the base of the Paranaense midfielder, was also observed by the chief scout of Shakhtar Donetsk at the Arena da Baixada.

Napoli, AC Milan and Lille also hold a lot at Guimaraes and Inter Milan has been denied the Brazilian early in the year.

The young man has a release clause of 40 million euros in his contract to Paranaense.

Sarri hopes that Chelsea's transfer ban will be canceled and is already preparing for the pre-season despite rumors of his imminent dismissal.

"I'm not particularly interested," said Sarri Sky Sport Italia last month when he was asked about the Chelsea transfer ban.

"We have just planned a program of pre-season activities that can go to the beginning of the Premier League in August.

"Anyway, calls are going on and it's possible that everything is settled."
