Chelsea transfer rumors: seven players set to leave as Manchester United pursuit hijacked

Chelsea produced an excellent performance to send West Ham United to a 3-0 victory this week.

It continues a good start to the season which sees them enter a potential title race.

The investment of over £ 200million the Blues made this summer paid off early on, but it leaves the club with a lot of work to do.

This work could begin next month when the January transfer window opens. Chelsea could also wait until next summer to make their most important signings.

With that in mind, here’s a roundup of the latest Chelsea transfer rumors.

Chelsea summer transfer plans

Chelsea have reportedly started making plans for next summer, which could include offloading seven players and signing two stars.

Frank Lampard significantly reshaped his squad last summer, signing Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell and others to strengthen his first team.

However, the Sun reports that these acquisitions will now lead to a series of sales. The seven players who risk being sold in one form or another are Ross Barkley, Marcos Alonso, Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, Jorginho, Danny Drinkwater and Victor Moses.

Meanwhile, the report says Chelsea have two specific entries in sight: West Ham United’s Declan Rice and Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland.

Rice has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea in the past, while Haaland is one of the most prolific young forwards in world football.

AC Milan enter the race Michael Olise

AC Milan have reportedly entered the race for Reading striker Michael Olise, which has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs.

Olise, who turned just 19 earlier this month, has four goals and seven assists in 1,363 league minutes this season.

And Serie B news via Semper Milan report that AC Milan are considering signing a permanent contract with Olise next summer before loaning him out next season.

Olise’s current deal expires in 2022 and has been linked with moves to Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal.

Chelsea hijack United Moises Caicedo pursuit

Chelsea are preparing to hijack Manchester United’s move for Moises Caicedo, according to the Daily Mail.

Despite previous reports that United were in extensive discussions regarding a move for Caicedo, the Mail reports that Chelsea are also following the Ecuadorian teenager and have intensified their interest.

The report claims Chelsea’s scouts have been monitoring his progress closely and have already had conversations with his intermediaries.

Newcastle and Brighton are also named as interested parties, but Chelsea are said to be in pole position to sign the 19-year-old.
