The Konkomba Youth Association in Accra expressed dissatisfaction with the ongoing conflict between the Konkombas and Chokosis.

Speaking to the media at the Accra International Press Center, the group appealed to the government to help restore peace in Chereponi so that the inhabitants could once again live in harmony.

It will be remembered that the clashes between the Konkomba and Chekosi ethnic groups in Naaduni following an alleged land dispute resulted in the death of many people and property.

In all, more than 13 people were arrested in the violent clashes between the two ethnic groups, but were subsequently released without charge.

On this basis, Interior Minister Ambrose Dery inaugurated a five-member investigative committee to investigate the incident that led to deadly clashes between the Konkombas and Chokosis in Chereponi District, Northern Region.

The group is hopeful that the committee will do a good job and bring all the authors to the book.

"I have confidence in the committee, I have confidence in the committee members, I believe that they can do a good job and bring the culprits to order so that peace reigns in the environment, "said Isaac Phoyon, spokesman for the group. .

The group accused Chereponi's DCE, Tahiru Abdul-Razak, of inciting conflicts between the Konkomba and Chekosi ethnic groups.

They also accused him of favoring his people (the Chekosi) by not respecting the curfew imposed on them.

"The Honorable Tahiru Adul-Razak failed to impose a curfew on his district. Why will he allow his parents to break the imposed curfew and celebrate the wedding ceremony until 11 pm? he questioned.

Once again, the Konkomba Youth Association is disappointed by its WFD because its commentary on some media platforms instead of promoting peace was intended to create more confusion. They therefore ask President Akufo-Addo to reconsider the appointment of Mr. Abdul-Razak as Chereponi's DCE.
