"Chicago PD": Jon Seda does not return in the series for season 7

The windy city will be down from three citizens next season: Chicago P.D. Star Jon Seda leaves the series after six seasons, while Chicago MedColin Donnell and Norma Kuhling to leave hospital drama after this fourth season in progress. Departures are the result of "creative reasons related to the evolution of the characters' story," according to our sister site, Deadline. (Read Donnell's statement here.)

Seda debuted as detective Antonio Dawson in the flagship show the Chicago fire. He briefly left P. D. when Antonio went to work for the state attorney's office on the unfortunate fallout Chicago Justice a season in 2017. After the cancellation of the show, Antonio joined the intelligence unit on P. D.

Donnell has played Dr. Connor Rhodes since Med"Premiere, while Kuhling joined the series as Dr. Ava Bekker in the season 2 finale.

Meanwhile, Fire fans can rest quietly: all players are on board for Season 8, including leading men Jesse Spencer and Taylor Kinney, who have signed a new two-year contract, by deadline.

In February, NBC distributed early renewals to the Chicago fire (for season 8), P. D. (Season 7) and Med (Season 5). The three series are currently airing Wednesdays from 8pm to 11pm and their season finale is scheduled for May 22nd.
