The Health Protection Center must order all kindergartens and early childhood centers reporting a seasonal flu epidemic to suspend clbades for seven days starting Saturday, a source said.

The center, which defines an outbreak of two or more cases, is expected to make an announcement at 2:30 pm on Friday. It will not close nursery schools and schools free of the virus.

It came after four outbreaks involving 85 students were reported on Thursday, involving children's gardens in Sha Tin, Kowloon City and Central, and a primary school in the East District.

As of January 16, 251 outbreaks had been reported in schools and institutions.

"The latest data show that local influenza activity has increased markedly last week," said the center's weekly. Flu Express wrote Thursday.

The parents received a notice from Lutheran Life announcing that the suspension would begin Friday and last until January 25th.

"[We have] received reports from students with high fever … and one of them admitted to the hospital, "says the opinion of the school. "[We have] reported the case to the Health Protection Center and staff responded the same day, confirming that a small outbreak had occurred. "

The Yuen Long School said all activities had been canceled and that the campus would be disinfected.

Pooi To, in Ma Tau Wai, announced that kindergarten clbades would be suspended from Monday to Friday, but that the primary school would be open as usual until further notice.
