Inner Mongolia reports human infection with H7N9 avian influenza virus: Xinhua

BEIJING (Reuters) – China's Inner Mongolia region on Saturday announced a case of human infection with the H7N9 bird flu virus, the Xinhua official news agency reported.

The same strain of bird flu killed nearly 300 people in the country during the winter of 2016/2017.

The patient, an 82-year-old man, was receiving treatment and the local authorities disinfected his home and surrounding area. The local government said that people who had had contact with humans had shown "no abnormality," Xinhua reported.
