GUANGZHOU, May
22, (Xinhua / GNA) – China Southern Airlines filed a claim for compensation
against the Boeing company after the grounding and late delivery of the 737
Max planes, according to the airline on Wednesday.

The Guangzhou-based airline has announced that it has suspended commercial flights from 24,737 Max
planes since March 11 and asked for a negotiation with Boeing on the
compensation plan as soon as possible.

China has become the
first to halt the commercial operations of all Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft after
the deadly plane crash of Ethiopian Airlines on March 10th.

It was the
second crash of the new plane after the one operated by the Indonesian Lion Air
crashed last October, triggering scrutiny and the ban on
Boeing 737 Max plane.

Tuesday,
China Eastern Airlines has formally requested compensation from Boeing for
the grounding of his aircraft 14 737 Max and the late delivery of this aircraft.
