BEIJING, July 13 (Xinhua) – China's courier industry posted steady business expansion in June, according to official data.
The country's courier companies delivered 5.3 billion parcels last month, up 25.3 percent year-on-year, according to the national post office.
This broke Japan's total package volume by $ 4.25 billion in 2017.
Business revenue rose 23.9 percent in June to 63 billion yuan (about $ 9.3 billion) in June, according to one estimate.
A total of 27.6 billion parcels were delivered during the first half of the year, yielding about 338.46 billion yuan of turnover.
Partly as a result of the relocation of industries from the developed eastern regions of the country to the central regions, central regions experienced strong growth in the courier sector in the first half, with a 33.8% increase in parcel.
