Maafo said Ghana intends to maintain diplomatic relations with China to improve infrastructure in the country.
He then pointed out that the Sinohydro Agreement, worth $ 2 billion, was a major infrastructure project in which the Asian country is involved.
"Today, the main company contributing to the development of the infrastructure system in Ghana is Sinohydro, it is a Chinese company. It's the one that will help us deal with our bauxite and provide us with about $ 2 billion, " the senior minister said.

In May 2017, Miss Aisha was arrested and brought to court for her involvement in illegal mining activities in the Ashanti region.
However, she was deported last December after the Attorney General's office withdrew her case.
Maafo, however, defended the decision to repatriate the Chinese national, saying: "We have very good relations with China.
