A French magistrate told CNN that the 29-year-old singer was arrested in Paris after being accused of "serious rape and drug violations".
The report says that he was caught with two other unidentified people on Tuesday, January 22, 2019.
The "Loyal" hitmaker reportedly recorded several legal problems, including charges of badault, following an incident that occurred in 2009 with his girlfriend, Rihanna.
After being convicted of badault and uttering criminal threats during this incident, he was sentenced to five years of probation and community service.
Chris Brown's recent problems with the law date back to the arrest after a July concert on a battery charge following an April 2017 incident in which he was accused of hitting a man who photographed him without permission.
He was released after filing a $ 2,000 bail, pleaded not guilty at a subsequent hearing and is awaiting trial.
In 2013, Brown and his bodyguard were arrested and charged with badault after an alleged altercation outside a hotel in Washington. The prosecution was reduced to an offense in court the next day and Brown was released from prison without bail.
Later in the year, Brown was deported from a rehab center after breaking his mother 's car window during a family sitting. A judge ordered him to immediately participate in another rehabilitation program.
