Chris Evans has a new project in the works, but it’s not exactly the usual blockbuster movie we’d expect from the Captain America Star. Working under the banner of his civic media organization A Starting Point, Evans will work alongside actor / filmmaker Mark Kassen and entrepreneur Joe Kiani on Influence and power in the Middle East, a six-part series that will “explore America’s past, present and future in the region,” by Deadlinereports. Immediately after the news fell, social media was quick to report some glaring issues they were having with the project.
People on Twitter noted the lack of Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) voices attached to the series, which is meant to “highlight generations of people who have been affected by decades of war and death. ‘instability’ in the Middle East. Instead, the series will primarily feature U.S. government voices like Ambassador John Bolton, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

The six-part series premieres August 30 exclusively on the website of Evans’ production company, astartingpoint.com. Other guests who will speak on the series include former Saudi Ambassador Joseph Westphal, former Yemen Ambassador Barbara Bodine, National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley, and more. The series will be invited by Will Hurd, former CIA agent and congressman from Texas.
