Team manager Ineos, Dave Brailsford, expects Chris Froome, four-time Tour de France champion, to return to elite cycling after last week's horrible crash. Criterium of the Dauphine.

Froome suffered multiple fractures, including a fractured femur, elbow and ribs, in a high speed accident. He was flown to the hospital where he was operated.

The 34-year-old Briton has been out of the Tour de France this year, but Brailsford does not think he's going to retire from the sport.

"It's pretty hard to understand, if I'm honest with you," Brailsford told Sportsweek at BBC 5 Live. "I think he's going to try to come back.

"Who knows what impact it will have on him, but I do not think that will be the case where he will just say" yes, I am satisfied now. I'll hang up and I'll talk one day. "

"I think he's more likely to work very hard in rehab and push himself very hard, and he'll follow the same approach, I'm sure, as he does for his sport." was a betting man, I would say yes, I'll watch him sometime in the future. "

"When something like that happens, when it's pretty traumatic, then it's a human reaction, I think, so it would not be a surprise at all," he said.
