Chris Hughes spoke about his love affair with pop star Jesy Nelson in a seriously awkward interview at the Cheltenham Festival today.

The song Love Island features a racing cover at this year's competition and talks with coach Luke Harvey for a spot on ITV.

However, it's Luke who has moved the issues of Chris's love life into asking him about his relationship with the Little Mix star.

Chris looked seriously embarrbaded and stumbled over his words as he let out, "You'll squeeze my lemon, is not it …"

Luke did not stop pressing him for more details, laughing: "You're lost to words, is not it?"

Chris continued, "She leaves me speechless, that's great, she's a lovely girl.

"I'm going to bring her to the race, she has never been before, I know she has never been before.

Chris was asked about his love story with pop star Jesy Nelson

The couple recently made public their love story

Chris and Jesy were first introduced in January when they were spotted at a London badtail bar meeting.

They kept romance out of public view until about a week later, when they were spotted kissing in a fried chicken shop after a nightly night out.

The stars then became public on Instagram and amazed fans by posting numerous photos showing them hugging them.

He recently told the KISS Breakfast Show that they are officially friends.

Chris said, "I'm the happiest I've ever been, it's official, it's my girlfriend," he said. "I am very nervous here now.

"I'm so happy, it's the kindest girl I've ever met, it's not an exaggeration, she has such a heart." She was your mother or something from kind."
