Eriksen has been linked to moves to Real Madrid and Manchester United, but other clubs will surely watch him now.

Eriksen, who enters the final year of his contract with the Spurs, has not ruled out staying with the club. He admits he could sign a new deal, but said that if an agreement could not be reached, he hoped to seal a move that would constitute a "step forward" in his career.

He also said that his future "will depend on Daniel Levy".

Aged 27, he is closely linked to the installation in Real Madrid of the last transfer windows. He has become one of the best game makers in Europe since joining Tottenham for only 11 million pounds since Ajax in 2013.

But the European football journalist Julien Laurens think that the Spanish giants have other priorities this summer: Paul Pogba, the star of Manchester United.

"But he may not be their first choice, Paul Pogba. If they can not get Pogba, they can move to Eriksen.

"I'm not sure his performance in the Champions League final helped him out a lot of the Spurs, because he was a bit disappointing.

"In some of these big games, it was disappointing, avoiding tackles, physics, and so on.

Julien Laurens admits that Paul Pogba has the option of going to Juventus

"And for a club like Real Madrid, when you already have players like Toni Kroos, to whom you've just given a new contract, and Luka Modric and perhaps Paul Pogba to come, Eriksen is not the kind of player you want to go for.

"I'm sure there will be a lot of clubs for him – he has only one year left, so the price can not be too high, because he will be free in a year.

"Even though Daniel Levy is a tough businessman and a tough negotiator, there is a lot to do to find someone with Christian Eriksen."
