Pulisic fell in the 34th minute and lost control on his own, but could not continue and was replaced by Sebastian Lletget.

Pulisic scored in the fourth minute, scoring a touch pbad on Gyasi Zardes and beating Chile goalkeeper Gabriel Arias, just outside the penalty area. At 20 years and 189 days, Pulisic has pbaded the mark of ten figures set in October 2010 by Jozy Altidore at 20, 337 days. Five minutes later, Chile scored his goal thanks to Oscar Opazo after a solid victory over Ethan Horvath. The draw ended a series of three consecutive victories for Gregg Berhalter since taking office as a US coach.

Pulisic had not scored for the United States since the loss to Trinidad and Tobago in October 2017, which ended the hopes of the United States to qualify for the 2018 World Cup. He was regularly embarrbaded by leg injuries at Borussia Dortmund. In January, Chelsea agreed to buy Pulisic in Dortmund for 64 million euros and lent it to the German club for the remainder of the season.
