Christians worldwide celebrate Palm Sunday today. Palm Sunday is a Christian holiday celebrated in all major Christian, Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox churches.

This day is also known as the Sunday of the Pbadion in recognition of the beginning of Holy Week and the last dying journey of Jesus to his crucifixion, the Sunday before Easter.

The feast commemorates Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem, an event mentioned in each of the four canonical gospels.

In Ghana, many churches will be decorated with crosses made from palm leaves. The children will be an integral part of the service because they appreciate the processions with the cross palm leaves manufactured sing "Hosanna".

Some ceremonies begin with the blessing of the palms. Then, many people bring the palm trees home and place them in houses, barns and fields.

Palm branches are widely recognized as a symbol of peace and victory, hence their favorite use on Palm Sunday.

The use of a donkey instead of a horse is highly symbolic, it represents the modest arrival of someone in peace.

The traditions of Palm Sunday remind us of the events that have changed the life of Holy Week.

Today, many Palm Sunday traditions remain about the same as those celebrated in the 10th century.
