Reverend Jonas Comos Kwami Kumah Tengey, regional pastor of the Great Council of Accra of the Great International Church Commission (GCCI) urged Christians to stand firm in their faith and not to be ashamed of the gospel of Christ.
Quoting the Bible, Reverend Tengey said, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to save all who believe; First, as well as Greek. "
He said the gospel, which means that the good news refers to the crucifixion, the burial and the resurrection of Jesus Christ for the salvation of mankind.
He noted that the gospel had the power to transform people's lives and society.
Reverend Tengey said this during the weekend at his homily at the GCCI Tema District Easter Convention on "Imitating Christ Jesus".
The four-day Easter Convention brings together worshipers from seven branches of GCCI Tema District: Tema Main, Tema Newtown, Grace Temple, Maranatha Assembly, Mount Zion Temple, Refuge City, and Prampram Assembly.
Reverend Tengey urged Christians to use their spiritual gifts and talents for the common good of the Church.
He said that, however powerful a Christian may be, he must give up on himself to shake Jesus Christ.
He said without love that the spiritual gifts and talents of the Christian were in vain.
Speaking on the theme "The Gospel of Jesus Christ: the only hope of the world", the regional pastor pointed out that the crufixition, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ are saving They have the power of sin and give it the right to stand before God.
"Without death, the burial and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, there is no salvation," Reverend Tengey said.
He said that there was no power anywhere in this world for people who want to lead a perfect life except through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
