President Nana Akufo-Addo, on the recommendation of the Police Council, promoted senior police officers, including the Director General of the Criminal Investigation Department, Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah.
Boss CID and five other senior officers were upgraded from deputy police commissioner to police commissioner effective April 1.
Shiella DSP Kessie Abayie-Buckman, director of police affairs, said Friday that three deputy police commissioners have also been promoted to deputy commissioners of police.
According to the statement, the Police Council also promoted two other officers to the rank of Deputy Police Commissioners, one officer to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police and eight to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police.
