Ghana's Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has denied reports that the three girls kidnapped by Takoradi have been saved.
It has been three weeks since the police chief, CoP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, told a press conference in Accra that the girls had been found and were safe.

A pro-government newspaper, Daily Guide, announced Wednesday that the girls had been saved and were undergoing medical examinations in Accra. According to the Daily Guide, the girls were bought Monday from Takoradi in Accra and "were transported to an BNI clinic around the 37th Accra Military Hospital for preliminary medical care."
But 3news.com's audits at CID headquarters revealed that the reports may not be accurate because the police did not authenticate the truth of the rescue reports.
A senior police official at CID headquarters also suggested to 3news.com that, although the girls are at hand, they are not with the police.
