Peter Quao Adattor is a multi-award winning broadcast journalist with the Media General Group.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghanaian police has recognized the professional and selfless dedication of the award-winning, media-rich media journalist Peter Quao Adattor and paid tribute to him.
Mr. Adattor was rewarded among five other journalists during a short ceremony on Friday, April 13, at the CID headquarters in Accra.
"It is in recognition of your altruism and your dedication to the work of the Criminal Investigation Department," reads a plaque congratulating him.
After reporting on the crimes and activities of Ghana's police for more than a decade, this is the second time that he has been commended for his diligence, the first in 2015.
GJA Award
Last year, Mr. Adattor was among the four general media journalists who distinguished themselves at the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards. Peter has been voted best journalist in TV reporting and in the general ranking of best journalist in the electronics category.
His awards are the result of two strong stories: one on a blind and deaf student who challenges every chance of receiving an education, and the other on sardines smuggled into the country.
Without his presentation, the expired sardines, which were in a bad phase, would have found themselves on the various markets of the country.
Other awards
The multi-faceted, multi-faceted journalist with special interests in crime reporting, rural reporting, sports reporting and investigative reporting has received numerous awards, including special awards and prizes. African Golden Glove and Hallmark.
Current projects
Among the many projects on which Mr. Adattor is currently working, there is his campaign to seek justice for two factory workers who have been left to their fate after being involved in an accident and mutilated.
"Father of the editorial"
Mr. Adattor can literally be described as the "father" of the Media General's synergized press room, always being available, ensuring that the press room is in order.
His cheerful personality attracts almost everyone and most of them sit at his feet to learn from his many years of work experience.
It is surprising, however, that Mr Adattor, after spending too much time in the media, remains out of the limelight and prefers to remain discreet.
But no, the millennia would not leave him, because they push him constantly in the digital space.
