April 3 – MANCHESTER CITY 2 CARDIFF CITY 0

Manchester City returned to the top of the Premier League with a 2-0 win over Cardiff City, which allowed Pep Guardiola's team to get close to one point over Liverpool with six games to go.

The fate of the title is in the hands of City since both teams have now played 32 games and City with 80 points while the team of Juergen Klopp has 79.

City dominated from the start, taking the lead in the sixth minute when Kevin De Bruyne shot Aymeric Laporte's superb pbad and beat Cardiff goalkeeper Neil Etheridge from a tight angle.

Leroy Sane scored 2-0 a minute before the interval with a soft shot from the left foot after a deep pbad from Gabriel Jesus.

In one way or another, City was not able to add its account after the break with Etheridge who made a series of nice saves while City scored the goal in Cardiff.

The result leaves Cardiff's 18th place five points from the safety zone on 28 points. Burnley, Southampton and Brighton are all on 33 points, Huddersfield Town and Fulham have already been relegated.
