"

IHR also stated that the capacity-building workshop aimed at familiarizing Haj information officers with Haj information management and identifying, counteracting and mitigating the negative effects of the fake information, especially in social media, before, during and after the operation of the hajj.

The workshop will also address the problem of misinformation and misinformation regarding the administration of hajj / umrah in Nigeria.

He said: "Over the last four years, Hajj operations have been the scene of a militarization of misinformation of unprecedented scale. Social media networks greatly amplify the lies spread by false media armies of social media and shared by a non-critical audience. "

According to the statement, such a negative representation of the hajj, if not dealt with quickly, can affect the psyche of future pilgrims and hinder their ability to fulfill their religious obligations.

It was on the basis that RSI invited experts to give lectures to Haj information officers on the effects of false information on Hajj administration and its operations.
