A civil society organization, the Center for Social Justice (CSJ) condemned the murder of social activist Ibrahim Mohammed alias Kaaka in Ejura in the Ashanti region.
Likewise, the group “was shocked” by the reported deaths of two people and four injured protesting in the community following the murder of the activist who was best described as a city crusader.
In a statement, the Center for Social Justice “welcomed” the government’s decision to set up a commission of inquiry to investigate the incident that led to the security violence recorded during the Ejura demonstration.
However, the organization has instructed the government to accept and implement the recommendations that will be given by the three-member committee.
Quoting the Emile Short commission which investigated Ayawaso West Wuogon’s violent by-elections, the CSJ called the government’s response to the recommendations “cold”.
Adding that “The Center for Social Justice will therefore closely follow the deliberations of this new Commission and, above all, the position of the government towards the implementation of the recommendations resulting from its work. Ultimately, we expect all guilty people to face all the rigors of the law. “
The group then called on the government and security agencies to reposition themselves in a way that encourages and protects freedom of speech and the expression of divergent views in accordance with the country’s laws.

CENTER FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE (CSJ) CONDEMNS MURDER OF IBRAHIM ‘KAAKA’ MOHAMMED, AND ASSOCIATED DEATHS AND INJURIES IN EJURA DISTRICT OF ASHANTI REGION, GHANA ON 29E JUNE 2021.
Center for Social Justice (CSJ) notes with concern the attack and subsequent death of Ibrahim “Kaaka” Mohammed, a #FixTheCountry activist and member of the Economic Fighters League who was allegedly attacked by some for his actions #FixTheCountry. activism. We are also shocked by the reported deaths of two mourners and four others injured by gunfire from security forces as they mourned and decried the death of their colleague, family and friend, Ibrahim ‘Kaaka’ Mohammed in the Ejura district of the Ashanti region of Ghana.
According to reports, Ibrahim ‘Kaaka’ Mohammed, before his disappearance, received threatening voice messages with partisan political overtones. Either way, the CSJ urges the government and police to treat all these deaths and the chaos associated with them as purely criminal matters deserving of investigation and punishment according to the law.
To this extent, the CSJ welcomes the government’s decision to set up an investigation to investigate these violent incidents.
