Climbing stairs for a few minutes can improve heart health: scientists

Scientists discovered that climbing stairs for a few minutes to a few minutes of the day could significantly improve heart health.
The research, published in the journal Applied Physiology, Nutrition and Metabolism, suggests that virtually anyone can improve their fitness, anywhere and at any time.
In his study, Martin Gibala, a professor at McMaster University in Canada, said the findings further facilitate users' integration of "exercise snacks."
Gibala said that those who work in office towers or who live in buildings can climb a few steps in the morning, at lunch time and in the evening, by training effectively.
Previous studies have shown that brief vigorous exercises, or sprint interval training (SIT), are effective in a single session, with a few minutes of recovery between intense bursts, requiring a total engagement of about 10 minutes.
For this study, researchers sought to determine whether SIT exercise snacks or vigorous stair ascents performed in a single sprint during the day would be sufficient to improve cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF), a Important marker for health, related to longevity and risk of disease.
To their surprise, the researchers were a little surprised to see that the approach of nibbling stairs was as effective as sprint interval training.
