CNCE educates health workers about corruption

Tamale, March 21, GNA
– The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) organized a forum at the
Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) and health workers sensitized to corruption in
the health sector.

The forum held at
strengthen anti-corruption practices in the delivery of health care and highlight
need to protect the rights of patients in the health sector.

The forum granted
participants also have the opportunity to share their views and complaints about
medical and legal problems.

Mr. Mac Matthew
Chancellor, the CNCE Metropolitan Director in Tamale, said that he existed
need for health workers to pay attention to how they treat patients because of the
discern the nature of the people they meet.

He urged the participants
value human lives and avoid partisan politics in order to collectively find
solutions to the problems faced by the health sector.

The Chancellor stated that
the threat of a lawsuit is real and called officials to safety
conscious to protect the integrity of individual integrity.

He said about 3
billions of dollars have been lost each year due to corrupt practices while such a
sufficient amount to build more health centers in the country.

Mr. Iddrisu Tanko, the
Deputy Director of the TTH Administration, congratulated the CNCE for the
initiative and recommended that more such forums be organized for workers
the health sector.
