CNH Industrial NV has ended discussions with Chinese company FAW Jiefang Co. over its road business and will continue with existing plans to split up the unit.
The industrial equipment maker, whose main shareholder is holding company Exor NV, said over the weekend that it had ended talks with truck maker FAW Jiefang. Rather, it is targeting a spin-off of the on-road business, which includes utility vehicles and the powertrain segment, early next year.
“CNH Industrial believes that there are significant opportunities to grow its motorway business by accelerating the deployment of ever more sustainable transport solutions and infrastructure, in line with the ambitions of the EU Green Deal,” said the company Saturday in a statement.
