Mr. Opoku has had exchanges with sizeable gangs during a two-day work trip to cocoa farms in the Bono and Ahafo areas.

According to him, COCOBOD management is implementing several interventions aimed at increasing the productivity of cocoa farms and improving farmers' livelihoods.

He added that mbad exercise is one of the flagship programs of the current administration and urged farmers to adopt to improve their plots.

He praised the pruning gangs for their dedication to growing the cocoa sector in Ghana. "We are here to discuss with you the progress of your work, your challenges and how we can help you become more effective," he said.

"When your farms are well pruned, it significantly reduces the risk of cocoa attack by diseases," he said.

"The National Cocoa Rehabilitation Program, mbad pruning exercise, manual pollination program, cocoa disease control and pest control program and other programs. Productivity Improvement (PIP) are all demonstrations of the government's good intentions towards cocoa farmers, "he added.
