The One Chicago franchise has been a star of hemorrhages lately. In May, fans learned that Jon Seda was going out Chicago P.D., while Colin Donnell and Norma Kuhling were heading towards Chicago Med.
Why the great exodus of distribution? According to Deadline, departures have to do with "creative reasons". But all the starters are not gone for good, it turns out.
One more episode for Colin Donnell
At first, it seemed like the final of season 4 of Chicago Med would be the latest fans to see Donnell, who plays Dr. Connor Rhodes, and Kuhling, who plays Dr. Ava Bekker.
In this episode, Rhodes discovered that his father had died from an insulin overdose and that Bekker could be responsible for it. Bekker thinks that with her father, Rhodes and herself will be free to continue their relationship. He closed this idea quickly. Bekker reacts angrily, calling Rhodes a "thankless bastard" and telling him to "rot in hell".
The romance of the couple's roller coaster is clearly over. However, the show did not explain much about the departure of any of the characters, nor did it answer the question of whether Bekker had really killed Rhodes' father.
Now, fans can get a little clarity. Donnell will be back for another episode of the medical drama staged by Windy City, Us Weekly reports. The actor will come back to Chicago Med for one episode – the premiere of season 5. Hopefully this will bring answers to what happened to his father and the end of his character.
It is not clear yet whether Kuhling's character will be back at the Gaffney Chicago Medical Center also for the episode, or if she's really gone for good.
How will Chicago Med sum up the story of Connor Rhodes?
We do not know how Chicago Med will conclude the history of Rhodes-Bekker. On TVLine, those who responded to a character cast poll overwhelmingly voted for Rhodes to accept a position at the Mayo Clinic to get away from Bekker. At the same time, the fans thought it would be clear that Bekker would have really killed Rhodes' father and that she was eventually fired or arrested. Rhodes could take a sabbatical or vacation, take another job or even realize that his suspicions about Bekker were in his head.
Donnell bids farewell to Chicago
While Donnell will be back for a final episode of Chicago Med, he is already leaving his adopted country. On July 8, he announced on Instagram that he was leaving town with his wife Patti Murin.
"It's the real day that moves here in Chicago," wrote the 36-year-old actor. "This city and its inhabitants left an imprint on our hearts as wide and wide as the city itself. We came here just after getting married to a new job and quickly fell in love with everything Chicago has to offer. Thanks for all the memories, we will visit often. "
Season 5 premiere of Chicago Med will be broadcast Wednesday, September 25 at 8 / 7c on the channel NBC.
