Animated series of Wonderstorm The dragon prince has captured fantasy fans with new twists on clbadic tropes. At Comic-Con San Diego 2019 in the Netflix series, creators Aaron Ehasz and Justin Richmond only made the mark. There are big plans for The Dragon Prince and the world of Xadia.

Ehasz started the panel by describing the timeline of The Dragon Prince, which is expected to continue four seasons after Season 3, subtitled "Sun".

"There is a distinct quality of trilogy in the books of the saga," he said. "The first part of this is The dragon prince and it is now. "

The duo also revealed that the franchise would publish new books aimed at deepening the tradition through a collaboration with Scholastic. "It's an amazing creative partnership, and every book we work on with them is designed to feed the group and the community," said Ehasz. The agreement includes a guide, illustrated novels and a main book that tells the story of the saga "but can go further".

The team also teased The orphaned queen, a new story they hope to tell in a series, books or even in a feature film, which follows a young human girl who starts from nothing and grows up without her parents. She makes a dangerous trip to Xadia and ends up saving the world. She is also the first royal ancestor of Ezran. Ehasz and Richmond said the idea was born as they imagined the origin of the Aaravos key.

Ehasz and Richmond also explored Xadia's timeline and explained the impact of certain eras on the books and the series. Five thousand years ago, Xadia was in its "early biblical myth days," long before elves and dragons were allies and human beings suffered and struggled. The "rise of Elarion" occurred about 2,000 years before the events of the series and saw humans making their way to magic.

About 1,200 years ago, the king of the dragons, Sol Regem, was the ark of the sun, as black magic became problematic and humans poached magical creatures. Shortly afterwards came the division of Xadia.

The next big turning point for the world was 300 years before the series, a time that Ehasz and Richmond call "the Avizandum era." Two stories that they want to tell take place at this time: The Fallen Star and The Orphan Queen. We do not know anything about The Fallen Star yet … but we'll know it. The team noted that history will one day see the modern era as "The Return of Aaravos".

Ehasz and Richmond gave fans an exclusive look at book 3, as well as copying information. The clip was a throwback, with Sol Regem, the solar dragon, hovering over open water. He lands on a mountain and meets Ziard, a dark wizard. "I feel death," said the dragon to the man before gently asking him to give up black magic. Ziard Regrows: Black magic is what allowed humans to come out of the age of famine, to help them grow beyond being minor beings.

"YOU ARE LESS," the dragon snapped.

The dragon threatens to destroy the city of Elarium if the human does not give up black magic. It takes off, and the man draws a spiral of purple smoke in the sky, channeling dark magic. It drains the life of a flock of birds. The dragon walks around to fix this problem. They shoot each other with twin fireballs. The man seems to be vaporized. The dragon crushes in the sea. And that is it.

The creators made scattered promises for the future of the series. Fans will learn how the Zym Dragon Egg has survived over time in Season 3 and, although he died, a resolution for King Harrow in the future. No release date for the next book was revealed at the committee but Ehasz and Richmond unveiled a new poster featuring Sol Regem.
