Comic Relief came back with some sketches that were cracking for 2019 and its fans had hailed it as the funniest year yet.

The highlights of the evening were David Beckham, a striptease for a sarong, a sequel to Four Weddings and Richard Madden as a bodyguard.

Viewers became hysterical tonight when Madden returned while Bodyguard's David Buddand was threatening to release his Glock.

The hilarious sketch also reunited with Keeley Hawes, whose political figure, Julia Montague, died in the show.

During an interrogation for a new job, Budd was seen being interviewed for a new job within Joanna Lumley.

He was interrogated about his weapon and he said that in case of danger, he would do it: "Whip my Glock".

Budd was referring to his weapon, adding, "This is my weapon of choice."

The skit continued with Budd driving Lumley but the treatment was stopped by Ted Hastings of Line of Duty, played by Adrian Dunbar.

He glanced suspiciously at Budd before opening the boot and declaring, "Ah ah I knew it!" like Keely Hawes is out.

David Beckham also had a strange moment, nine years after the famous shared bath with James Corden.

He made a speech in front of the camera stating that he would spend this year watching the show at home, recalling his famous skit with Corden.

We then saw Becks get away dressed in his famous sarong and run up to join Corden in the bathroom for another moment of intimacy.

The clbadic comic stars, including Hugh Grant and Andie MacDowell, came together for a sketch of their daughter's wedding.

She was played by Lily James and it turned out that she was marrying the daughter of Kristin Scott Thomas character, portrayed by Hollywood star Alicia Vikander.

At the beginning of the show, cartoon relief legend, Lenny Henry, launched on a dark note by paying a poignant tribute to the victims of the terrorist attack in New Zealand.

"May I say at this moment how much we share the sorrow of all of us in the face of the recent events in New Zealand.

"We send our condolences and respects to families and stay side by side despite those who wish to hurt."

At least 49 people have been confirmed dead by the New Zealand authorities after the worst mbad fire the country has ever committed in two mosques in Christchurch.
