The government set up a committee to investigate the circumstances that led to the alleged leak of the Food and Nutrition Practice Exam 3 questions into the current exam for the high school certificate of the West Africa (WASSCE).
Although the West African Examination Council (WAEC) has denied such claims by the education think tank, Africa Education Watch, the latter says it stands by these claims.
“As far as I’m concerned, the minister [of Education] engaged them and an investigation process is underway and WAEC has come out with their response and EduWatch has also released a [counter] complaint, ”said the head of public relations of the Ministry of Education, Kwasi Kwarteng.
Mr Kwarteng, however, said he was not aware of specific deadlines regarding the report.
African Education Watch Executive Director Kofi Asare said on his Facebook page that he had had a virtual meeting with the Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, and the management of the Ghana Education Service.
Although WAEC has refuted claims that the document was leaked, it said they met “to present irrefutable and sacred evidence of the WASSCE Food & Nutrition 3 document leaked last Friday.”
The WAEC, however, explained that the guidelines for the practice of food and nutrition are however published early to help schools adequately prepare for the practical exam.
