Sushil Ram, Director of the Social Policy Development Program at the Commonwealth Secretariat, said that the Secretariat was firmly committed to forming an alliance of young Commonwealth entrepreneurs in Africa (CAYE-Africa).

Speaking before Salomon Adjei in Accra at the end of a workshop devoted to the review of youth policy, Mr Sushil said that one of the main challenges Young people in most countries, especially Africa, face high unemployment and underemployment. by helping Member States to strengthen policy frameworks for youth, employment and entrepreneurship, to create an environment conducive to the success of start-ups.

In May this year, young entrepreneurs from 17 different countries gathered in Tanzania to develop a framework and roadmap for the formation of the new CAYE Africa, which is expected to be officially launched in six months. This forum will provide a platform for young people. entrepreneurs to network, share business ideas, create partnerships and exchange in all Commonwealth countries.

Key findings include the selection of an interim leader to put in place an advocacy policy framework and to hold a major summit open to all young entrepreneurs from Commonwealth countries in Africa.

The Commonwealth is committed to ensuring that these new leaders succeed by providing them with all the logistics they need, including partnerships, funding, mentoring and access to decision-makers, among others. -he declares.
