With all the hype that Big Auto generates with press releases and concept cars, you think its dealers would already be inundated with electric vehicles. Unfortunately, it is not the case. But slowly, very slowly, new electric vehicles are introduced. How do they compare with Tesla vehicles? It's always the first question on everyone's lips.

Tesla is hard to beat in terms of performance and technology. However, an intriguing data point to look at is price per mile range. Do you know how old automakers compare to Tesla on this particular metric? Otherwise, do not worry, the zebra covers you. Auto insurance experts have badyzed many of today's best electric cars to better understand which model of electric vehicle offers the best mileage.

Or maybe you can think this way: how much do you pay per kilometer? To determine the answer, the Zebra simply split the MSRP of each vehicle by its mileage range shown for 2019. Their infographics breaks down the price / range ratios of the best electric vehicles of 2019.

Of course, there are many other key factors to take into account when one is interested in EVs, such as security, customer loyalty and total cost of ownership. And do not underestimate the power of subjective (sometimes superficial) criteria – appearance matters too. Add the Tesla Supercharger network to the equation and the comparison may become a bit unfair.

Finally, some caveats to consider. The infographic does not include Tesla's recently announced Model 3, at a base price of $ 35,000, as this configuration has not yet been modified. book to no customer at the moment (ahem, we are waiting).

And a word of caution: Since the original publication of this infographic, Tesla's prices are (and remain) fluctuating – a moving target that is constantly changing. * That said, you will probably find some statistics in this infographic quite useful for evaluating the market for electric vehicles.
