Arsenal would be in negotiations to sign Ivan Perisic – but how does the Inter winger compare to the players with whom he will be competing for a place in the Emirates?
BBC journalist David Ornstein generally beat Arsenal Twitter this weekend informing the club that the club had decided to sign a loan with Perisic, along with an option to purchase an amount. 35 million pounds.
We looked more closely at Perisic's statistics and compared them to Mesut Ozil, Alex Iwobi, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who would seem to be his direct rivals for a place alongside Unai Emery.
Goals and helpers
Taking into account only the performance of the league in 2018-2019, Perisic ranks second in the quartet for goals and badists.
Only Mkhitaryan scored more than his three goals, with four, while only Iwobi provided more than his two badists, with four.
However, given the playing time given to each player, Perisic is actually the least prolific of the four players, providing a goal or a help every 262.8 minutes.
All three goals and Ozil's help came at a similar pace every 242.25 minutes, but Iwobi and Mkhitaryan led the way.
Iwobi scored two goals and created four goals to one every 189 minutes, while the four goals and one Mkhitaryan pbad were scored at one goal every 168.2 minutes.

Pbad and attack
Despite the smallest number of badists, Ozil remains the most creative of the quartet, with an average of 2.1 chances created every 90 minutes in the Premier League this season.
Perisic is second with Mkhitaryan with 1.7, while Iwobi averages 1.4.
Ozil is also the first smuggler, with a success rate of 87.3%, ahead of Mkhitaryan (79%), Iwobi (75.5%) and Perisic (71.9%).
It is interesting to note that while Perisic and Mkhitaryan create the same number of chances, they also have similar dribbling and shooting statistics.
Both players averaged 0.9 dribbles every 90 minutes, although Perisic had a better success rate (47.4% vs. 34.6%). Ozil completes a little more with one by 90 minutes (with a success rate of 62.5%), while Iwobi ranks first with 2.4 to 54.5%.
The former duo Dortmund is also tied with 0.7 shots per target every 90 minutes with identical accuracy (20.6% Perisic against 21.9% for Mkhitaryan).
These numbers are the highest among the four players, with Iwobi averaging slightly less shots on goal with a score of 0.6 every 90 minutes, but with a 42.9% higher accuracy.

Defensive contributions
Ozil fell out of favor with Unai Emery, considered a luxury player, and statistics corroborate this claim.
The German international has completed 0.7 tackles every 90 minutes and 0.1 interception, the lowest number among the four players.
It may also explain why a player like Perisic uses Emery, with a winger averaging 0.9 tackles and 0.7 steals.
Mkhitaryan is leading with 1.9 shots and 0.9 interceptions, while Iwobi averaged more throws than Perisic (1.1) but fewer interceptions (0.5).
