After an amazing night at NXT TakeOver: Phoenix, the landscape of NXT has already begun to change. Two championships have changed hands, and we could see superstars coming up soon in the main line with WrestleMania at the rendezvous. NXT TakeOver: There are only a few months left in New York, but let's see what the next NXT event looks like.
At NXT TakeOver: Phoenix, we have seen incredible matches. War Raiders opened the night with a team clinic against The Undisputed Era, and managed to leave as new team champion NXT Tag. Ricochet and Johnny Gargano destroyed the house later in the night, but it was "Johnny TakeOver" who left as North American NXT champion.
NXT champion Tommaso Ciampa and NXT Women champion Shayna Baszler also defended their title. Ciampa had to dig deep to tidy up Aleister Black, and their problems continued during halftime. At the half-time Super Bowl, Aleister Black teamed with Velveteen Dream and Ricochet to face Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano and Adam Cole.
The whole match took place after a confrontation that took place just after NXT TakeOver: Phoenix has stopped broadcasting. It was an undeniably fantastic contest, but it could be close to the last night of some NXT participants. Rumors have been circulating for some time on the possible orders of Aleister Black and Velveteen Dream, and this, after their performance at half-time, would be ideal.
Moreover, with The Undisputed Era completely devoid of gold in the championship, it would be logical for the WWE to raise them. Considering the need for SmackDown in new teams and Raw's supposed desire to improve division after the frustrations expressed by The Revival, The Undisputed Era would be a welcome addition to both brands.
With these potential controls in mind, you will notice in this map prediction that Velveteen Dream, Aleister Black and The Undisputed Era are all missing. However, it still seems like we could have a really spectacular map for NXT TakeOver: New York.
