Arsenal have confirmed that Danny Welbeck will leave the club this summer in a field announcement during the match against Brighton.
The injured English international has been absent since November 2018 after being fractured ankle against Sporting CP in the Europa League. His contract was due to expire at the end of the season, but no official mention has been made of his future in recent months.

As reported by The Mirror, in a presentation after the match following the 1-1 draw against Brighton, the Palestinian Authority presenter said Welbeck will be a free agent this summer, stating: "His presence will be missed in the locker room.

Welbeck joined Arsenal of Manchester United on the 2014 Maturity Day for an amount of 16 million pounds sterling and suffered numerous injuries that interrupted its progress in North London over the years.
He made a total of 126 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners, scoring 32 goals. This season, Welbeck looked set to regain form, scoring five goals in 10 Europa League games this season, but was brutally beaten in November.
The news of Welbeck's departure came after The result This effectively wiped out Arsenal's top four hopes, leaving them with a very small chance of overtaking Tottenham, his rival north of London.
