The Liverpool team made a return in mid-season this summer. The arrival date of the next three key players has now been confirmed.
Alisson and Roberto Firmino participated in the Copa America with Brazil and won the title at home.
The same weekend, they won the trophy. Egypt and star striker Mohamed Salah have been eliminated from the Africa Cup of Nations, also on their territory.
The three players receiving the standard three week break after international efforts, they naturally missed the first pre-season weeks to which the rest of the team came back at different times.
Jurgen Klopp confirmed that the trio would return for the training course in France for a period of three weeks.
"Mo and the Brazilians will come for Evian.
"That means we have almost a week left before City [in the Community Shield], a fort 12 days to Norwich and then 15 or 16 days to Chelsea [in the Super Cup].
"We must see. The good thing is that when you have a short break, you do not lose much.
"They needed three weeks and we told them [to take it]but they are training again now.
"I would have preferred that if they had come back after a week, but that would make no sense! So, [they have] these three weeks and then we will have them here for the pre-season. "
Once the trio returns, there remains only one player whose return is not yet known: the CAN finalist, Sadio Mane.
His Senegalese team and his team will face Algeria on Friday, after which the club will contact him for his fitness.
"With Sadio, we have to take care of him after the final – how he feels and things like that," added Klopp.
"It will be really difficult. 16 days before playing City, his season is over. We will have to make a decision, but we have not made it yet. "
It seems likely that the No. 10 will not be involved at least for the first game of the season against Norwich, given that it takes place precisely three weeks after the CAN final.
If Mane is allotted the entire three-week break, it seems unlikely that even if he participates in a pre-condensed mini-season, he will be in the team until at least the second or the third Premier League match of the new campaign.
