Confirmed COVID-19 cases in Eritrea nearly 1,000 years old – Xinhua

ADDIS ABABA, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) – The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Eritrea rose to 992 after the Red Sea nation recorded 41 new cases of COVID-19 in 24 hours, the ministry of Eritrea Health (MoH) reported on Saturday.

In a press release, the health ministry said the 41 new cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed from tests carried out on patients across the country, including in the Eritrean capital Asmara.

The statement further indicates that the total number of patients cured to date stands at 600.

Eritrea has so far recorded only one death linked to COVID-19. The Red Sea nation confirmed its first case of COVID-19 on March 21.
