Confusion on the direct results of Sports Direct

There is some confusion around the publication of Mike Ashley's Sport Direct financial results, due out early Friday morning.

The retailer had already postponed the publication of its annual results on July 15, citing the uncertainty surrounding transactions within its House of Fraser channel and increased monitoring of its auditor.

He then said that he might not achieve his earnings forecast.

On Wednesday, the firm announced that it would publish its results on Friday.

UK-listed companies normally publish their results at around 7:00 am, before the London markets open at 8:00 am.

However, the company's preliminary results had not yet been released at 8:20 and she had not responded to requests for comment.

The Sports Direct action has dropped more than 2% as a result of trading in the London market.
