Conor McGregor was criticized by social media users for a tweet now deleted he wrote about rival Khabib Nurmagomedovwife.

McGregor removed the tweet in about 15 minutes, but not before generating tens of thousands of reactions – and angry comments from many other social media users, claiming the message was "racist" and "Islamophobic& # 39 ;.
Sharing a screenshot of the deleted tweet, one person wrote: "Remember when people have tried to argue that Conor McGregor is not racist and what he said was just "joking". "

In another tweet, McGregor also called Nurmagomedov "a foolish rat", telling him not to be afraid of revenge.
Last week, the controversial MMA star announced that he would retire from the sport.
By posting a message on Twitter, he wrote: "Hey quick announcement for guys, I decided to retire from the sport officially called" mixed martial art. "I wish good luck to all my former colleagues for the competition.

Initially, the fans were not particularly convinced when the news was announced. Many believe that McGregor will end up being his only opponent, Floyd Mayweather, and will simply retire when deals become too good to be denied.

Nurmagomedov was not convinced either, claiming that McGregor was like a "jealous wife" who always comes back.
