Accra, March 18, GNA –
Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) Limited has opened a new branch in Korle-Bu
Accra to provide members of the community and surrounding areas with
easy banking.
The opening followed
the launch of the bank's branch in Labone a month ago.
A statement from
Department of Communication of the Bank said, Mr. Daniel Wilson Addo, the Chief
Director General of the Bank at the opening ceremony declared the opening of the
the new branch was part of the Bank's program to resize its branch
network.
By correctly sizing
The branch network, the statement said, aimed to close
branches of the bank and open new ones according to its target business model.
According to
statement, Mr. Addo said the bank, which currently has more than 190 branches on
the 16 regions of the country were about to bring banking services to
at the doorsteps of its customers while deepening financial inclusion in the country.
"To ensure efficiency
operations, some branches of the bank that are poorly located as well as
those located in areas with two or more nearby branches will be closed
the next few months, "he noted.
The statement says that

differentiated banking experience.
Mr. Addo, the statement
noted, said CBG started on a solid foundation and will use its size, knowledge
and extensive experience of its staff to support large and small businesses across
countries and play their role in ensuring the stability of the financial sector.
Naa Adoley Ablade I,
the queen mother of the traditional area of Sempé which includes Korle-Bu
according to the statement, congratulated the CBG for opening.
"For us seniors,
CBG has saved us a lot of time in distant branches for commercial transactions. All
you have to do is enter and you are sorted, "she said.
