Tesla CEO Elon Musk will not like that. Consumer reports announced Thursday that it no longer recommended the 100% electric Tesla Model 3 sedan.
This comes less than a year after getting the coveted "Recommended" label from the badessment body. Last May, in a week, CR went to say it I could not recommend the vehicle to make a full recommendation after Tesla upgraded the car's brakes.
The decision is based on the results of CRAnnual Survey of Automotive Reliability. After a survey of 500,000 vehicle owners, it turned out to be one of many vehicles with "declining reliability".
according to CR, The main problems with model 3 were trim and glbad defects.
Model 3 still has the highest safety ratings of NHTSA and owners are very satisfied with their vehicles, but CR again hit Tesla for reliability issues. This is only one of the elements used to calculate an overall score, which takes into account performance during road tests, government crash tests, warning and prevention systems and capabilities collisions, as well as ratings of reliability and satisfaction from the Auto Survey.
Three new vehicles have been recommended because of the improved reliability (BMW X3, Genesis G90 and Lincoln Nautilus), while a few other vehicles have lost their label: Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Acura RDX, BMW 5 Series and Volkswagen Tiguan. At least Tesla is not alone.
