Leila Djansi and John Dumelo
Many Ghanaian celebrities have congratulated the actor John Dumelo for his decision to contest the primaries of Parliament, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), held in Ayawaso West Wuogon.
Ghanaian movie stars who sent congratulations to John Dumelo after posting his campaign poster on his social media account included Yvonne Nelson, Peace Hyde, Regina Van Helwink, Mawuli Gavor and Prince David Osei.
However, Leila Djansi, an American and Ghanaian filmmaker, is not satisfied with Dumelo's intention to challenge the parliamentary primaries on the Democratic National Congress ticket.
She claimed that Dumelo's intention to get into politics was good, but feared that Dumelo would dispute what the NDC calls a party, calling the main opposition party a "party for high-level corruption."
"I love my brother John, but it's a no no for me. Unless he changes his badociates; the bus that marks people, handles high-level corruption and does something for the ordinary citizen with all the power he already has, I'm not sure he can support it wholeheartedly. Not yet. She posted on her Facebook newspaper.
The movie star shared his campaign poster with a caption on social media.
"It's time for Ayawaso West Wuogon … to listen and serve the interests of the people. It's time for change … John Dumelo, humbly asks you to support me on this journey … God bless Ghana. # take action # get results # idey4u.
