Convenient: Belkin's Boost-Up Wireless Fast Charger is a solid alternative to pixel support for Pixel 3 [Video]

The Pixel 3 Google is the first device, since the Nexus 6 of the company, to offer wireless charging, a feature we were sorely missed. His return, however, was not without surprise. To enable a 10W wireless fast charger to work with the Pixel 3, Google is using a proprietary standard and recently I am checking out one of Belkin's first third-party options.

The best gifts for Android users

When it was first revealed that the Pixel 3 was using a wireless fast charge standard, Belkin confirmed that it was manufacturing a Google-compatible wireless charging medium. However, it was difficult to obtain because the stock had constantly disappeared. At the time of writing, Belkin's Boost-Up wireless charging stations and wireless charging media are available directly on the company's website for $ 59 and $ 69 respectively.

Although we have not yet had the chance to test the wireless charger itself, Belkin has sent its new Boost-Up wireless charging cradle for the Pixel 3, which works great. Of course, this means that the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are loaded at a power of 10W, just like the Pixel Stand and unlike all other chargers on the market.

The charger fits at an easy angle to use on a desk or bedside table before going to bed. This is a similar design to Google Pixel Stand, but the Belkin option has some advantages.

On the one hand, the Belkin charger costs a little less than $ 69, compared to $ 79 for the Pixel Stand. You can also shop to find the best deal. Outside the Belkin site, the booth is available at Verizon and Amazon, which currently sells units (pending) for $ 63.

The biggest advantage of Belkin's design, however, is that it is almost impossible to misalign the device. Although many times I have failed to correctly place the pixel on the Google stand before going to bed, the phone has almost disappeared, but Belkin does not have this problem. Thanks to the largest loading space and the very design of the loader, you will never miss it. You can easily place the camera in landscape mode, which works reliably with both Pixel 3 models.

Another big advantage of the Belkin charger compared to the Pixel Stand is its operation with devices that are not Pixels. By testing with a Galaxy S10, I was able to systematically shoot faster speeds from Belkin's charger compared to Google's Pixel Stand.

However, Belkin's design is not perfect. My main complaint is that you can not reach the fingerprint sensor on either device. Another sore point is that the charger's power cable uses a proprietary plug with huge output connection. You also lose the custom photo frame and badistant functions offered by Pixel Support.

Personally, I would always choose Pixel Stand support, but if you can do without additional features, if you want to save a few dollars or if you just want a wireless fast charger available in black, Belkin is here for you. As mentioned, there is also a wireless fast charger company that also charges at 10W for $ 59 cheaper.
